Gavin “Soultimes” Wilson
Irish born and now London based, Gavin has over twenty years of record collecting and spinning to his name including a touch of production time. Moving to Belfast for University studies, he very quickly found himself immersed in the city club scene as well as fronting the counter of Mixmaster Records, (now Belfast Underground Records). A past alumni of RBMA, this lead him to delve into production work were he had several releases on Belfast based Slide Recordings, and in the process finding his way onto the legendary Fabric Mix Series. Broadening his travels, Gavin was to be found spinning in Dublin and further south in Cork for Sunday Soulsides Sessions at The Opera House, as well as frequent radio appearances on Radio Friendly Cork. Throughout all this, Gavin maintained a broad open mind to the music he collected and played, whether it is broken beat, garage, house, disco/boogie, Hip-Hop, jungle through to Afro/Brasil, soul or jazz, it was and is still very much all about quality regardless of genre.
Moving to the present, Gavin relocated to London in 2015 delving into the city’s electronic/dance scene from which he has gained numerous gigs and has included a weekly Saturday night residency in Dalston, to ongoing monthly spots in the east and north of the city. Making new friends and connections has lead to Gavin becoming part of the More Downstairs collective where he co-presents the monthly show Cheap Wax on Netil Radio. He has also collaborated on the Portuguese station, Rádio Quântica.
In between all this he continually searches for artists, beats and sounds with the common thread of soul.
